Leaving Atlanta!

We are in the airport, boarding the flight to JFK. Our bags have been checked all the way to Beijing, which was a pleasant surprise. We thought we would have to pick it up and recheck it in NY to move to Air China. Thanks, Delta!

The real reason I am writing is to tell you about our luggage. I forgot to take a picture of it, but let me just say that the bags were big and really full! How full, you ask?

Well, the garment bag weighed in at 36 pounds. The suitcase was a cool 49 pounds. That's 85 pounds of checked luggage!!

When you include my computer/electronics backpack, Kathy's rolling carryon, and the bag full of food, I am convinced that our total luggage weighs more than my wife!!

But that is only because I have a beautiful, thin wife... Not because we overpacked ;)
